[texts]An Efficient Resource Allocation in MIMO-OFDMA Networks - M. Siva Chandra Kumar ,CH Madhava Rao ,
Most of the future wireless communication system applications are purely multimedia applications with the different Quality of Services (QoS) and these systems are required to support a variety of data rate for communication services to its end users, such as video streaming and cloud based services.. Therefore for efficiently providing a proper communication among all these wireless communication systems an attractive multiple access scheme is required, which are possible by using OFDMA scheme ...

[texts]Performance Analysis of a Cost-Effective Electret Condenser Microphone Directional Array - Humphreys, William M., Jr.
Microphone directional array technology continues to be a critical part of the overall instrumentation suite for experimental aeroacoustics. Unfortunately, high sensor cost remains one of the limiting factors in the construction of very high-density arrays (i.e., arrays containing several hundred channels or more) which could be used to implement advanced beamforming algorithms. In an effort to reduce the implementation cost of such arrays, the authors have undertaken a systematic performance an...

[texts]Optimal Allocation of Rural Energy Resources Using Goal Programming -A Case Study
The optimal allocation of rural energy resources to various energy end users is an important aspect forĀ  bridging the energy supply and demand gap in India. It has been observed that allocation should be channelized by multiple criteria. In this paper a multi objective programming model for such an allocation process is presented. A standard model has been applied for rural sector of Malnad region of Shimoga District, Karnataka state...

Laminar fuel-air counterflow diffusion flames (CFDFs) were studied using axisymmetric convergent-nozzle and straight-tube opposed jet burners (OJBs). The subject diagnostics were used to probe a systematic set of H2/N2-air CFDFs over wide ranges of fuel input (22 to 100% Ha), and input axial strain rate (130 to 1700 Us) just upstream of the airside edge, for both plug-flow and parabolic input velocity profiles...

[texts]Optimal Asymmetric Resource Allocation for Dual-hop Multi-relay Based Downlink OFDMA Systems
We proposed an optimal asymmetric resource allocation (ARA) scheme for the decode-and-forward (DF) dual-hop multi-relay systems in the downlink, with Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) for multi-user transmission. Our work is different in that the time slots for the two hops via each of the relays are designed to be asymmetric, i.e., with K relays in the cell, a total of 2K time slots may be of different durations, which enhances the degree of freedom over the previous work...

[texts]The Gravity Wave Response Above Deep Convection in a Squall Line Simulation - Alexander, M. J.
High-frequency gravity waves generated by convective storms likely play an important role in the general circulation of the middle atmosphere. Yet little is known about waves from this source. This work utilizes a fully compressible, nonlinear, numerical, two-dimensional simulation of a midlatitude squall line to study vertically propagating waves generated by deep convection. The model includes a deep stratosphere layer with high enough resolution to characterize the wave motions at these altit...

Infrared spectroscopy provides unique insights into the chemistry and dynamics of the atmospheres of Jupiter, Saturn, and Titan. In 1991 we obtained data at J, H, K, and M and made repeated observations of Titan's albedo as the satellite orbited Saturn. The J albedo is 12% /- 3% greater than the albedo measured in 1979; the H and K albedos are the same. There was no evidence for variations at any wavelength over the eastern half of Titan's orbit...

Resource-dependence theory is a theory of organization(s) that seeks to explain organizational and interorganizational behavior in terms of those critical resources that an organization must have in order to survive and function. The theory focuses on the following: resources; the flow or exchange of resources between organizations; those dependencies and power differentials created as a result of unequal resource exchange; the constraining effects such dependence has on organizational action; a...

[texts]High Reliability Engine Control Demonstrated for Aircraft Engines - Guo, Ten-Hue
For a dual redundant-control system, which is typical for short-haul aircraft, if a failure is detected in a control sensor, the engine control is transferred to a safety mode and an advisory is issued for immediate maintenance action to replace the failed sensor. The safety mode typically results in severely degraded engine performance. The goal of the High Reliability Engine Control (HREC) program was to demonstrate that the neural-network-based sensor validation technology can safely operate ...
